Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) welcomed a visitation from the Urology Collegium as part of the activity titled “Collegium Visitation and Workshop on Curriculum, Human Resources, and Educational Facilities for the Urology Residency Program (PPDS)” of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (FK Undip), held on Friday (March 13). This activity represents an important stage in the development process and readiness assessment for the implementation of the Urology Residency Study Program at FK Undip.
The event began with an opening session held at the Senate Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Dean’s Office Building of Mayjen dr. R. Soewondo Sastrodiprojo, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro. The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T.; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., Sp.B., Subsp.Onk(K); the Urology Collegium team; as well as the Board of Directors of RSND as a teaching hospital.
On this occasion, the President Director of RSND, dr. Agus Setiyo Hadipurwanto, M.Kes., delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing RSND’s commitment to supporting the development of specialist medical education, particularly in the field of urology. As a teaching hospital, RSND strives to provide high-quality clinical education through comprehensive healthcare facilities, qualified human resources, and an education system integrated with the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro.
The visitation continued with a briefing session from the Head of the Urology Collegium, presentations on study program development by the Faculty of Medicine Undip team, and joint discussions regarding curriculum design, human resources, and the readiness of educational facilities. During this session, the proposing team also presented the profile and development plan of the proposed Urology Specialist Study Program at FK Undip.
As part of the evaluation process, the Urology Collegium team conducted a direct site visit to RSND to review facilities and infrastructure that will serve as educational venues for Urology residency trainees. The assessment covered various clinical and supporting units, including the urology outpatient clinic, inpatient wards, emergency department, operating rooms, ICU, and diagnostic facilities such as radiology, clinical laboratory, and anatomical pathology services.
The team also reviewed supporting educational and operational facilities, including the medical rehabilitation unit, library and e-journal access, faculty and preceptor offices, seminar rooms and skills laboratory, pharmacy installation, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), medical records unit, and information technology facilities.
Through this visitation, it is expected that the development process of the FK Undip Urology Residency Study Program will proceed optimally with the support of RSND’s facilities and services as the main teaching hospital. RSND remains committed to continuously improving service quality while strengthening its role in supporting education, research, and the advancement of medical science.
The activity concluded with a wrap-up session, during which the Urology Collegium team delivered preliminary findings and recommendations as evaluation materials to further strengthen the readiness for program implementation in the future. (RSND Public Relations)
